Instant. Borderless. Regulated. ElenPAY at the Ibiza Tech Forum 2025

ElenPAY joined Ibiza Tech Forum 2025 to explore the future of global payments, crypto-fiat convergence, and regulatory innovation.

Last week marked ElenPAY’s first participation in the Ibiza Tech Forum 2025, an event that has quickly earned its place among Europe’s top-tier gatherings for digital innovation, tech entrepreneurship, and financial transformation. Organized in the vibrant setting of Ibiza, this year’s edition brought together more than 120 speakers across blockchain, AI, digital finance, cybersecurity, and next-gen infrastructure.

ElenPAY took part in the event, alongside its parent company, Clovr Labs, which joined as an official sponsor. The forum was not only an opportunity to deepen industry ties and spotlight ElenPAY’s work in instant, global crypto payments, but also a chance, as a crypto player, to contribute one-to-one together with fiat payments leaders in discussions shaping the future of financial systems.

Redefining the way the world pays

A standout moment for ElenPAY at the Ibiza Tech Forum 2025 was the participation in the panel “Transforming Global Payments: Redefining the Way the World Pays.” Moderated by Cristina Murgas, Managing Partner at Bonsai Consultores, the session featured ElenPAY’s General Manager, Josep León, alongside Rafael Rodríguez, Enterprise Account Executive at Stripe, and Alejandro Banegas, VP & Head of Digital Partners at Mastercard

Together, they explored how the global payments ecosystem is being reshaped by cross-border commerce, evolving regulation, and increasingly sophisticated user expectations. The discussion underscored how infrastructure, strategy, and technology must evolve in lockstep to meet a new generation of demands.

These are a few of the takeaways revealed for the future of payments:

A new generation of users

Today’s users are more informed, tech-savvy, and comfortable with emerging tools like AI and crypto. They expect seamless, fast, and flexible payment experiences. What was once considered a premium feature is now a baseline expectation.

A new definition of globalization

Cross-border P2P and B2B payments are quickly growing, supported by scalable infrastructures that enable cost efficiency, instantaneity, and transparency. Companies are being pushed to rethink their infrastructures to stay competitive in a landscape where cost-competitive near-instant settlements are becoming the norm.

Regulation as a catalyst

In markets like the EU, frameworks such as MiCA are no longer barriers; they become strategic foundations. The regulatory attention in safeguarding the interests of users and companies while enabling the widespread adoption of digital assets is helping companies to design trustworthy, compliant payment systems that scale across jurisdictions.

Crypto and fiat are converging

For the first time, both sectors openly expressed the need to collaborate to shape interoperable solutions that will define the next phase of global payments. As stablecoins mature, Bitcoin Lightning infrastructure advances, and fiat ramps become more sophisticated, the industry is moving toward true interoperability. The future isn’t crypto versus fiat, it’s crypto with fiat.

The session made it clear that collaboration, not competition, will define the next evolution in global payments, and those who embrace interoperability and compliance will lead the way.

Broader conversations that matter

While payments were at the heart of the event’s focus, the Ibiza Tech Forum 2025 offered much more than a single lens on the future of finance. Over three days, the event’s curated panels tackled some of the most pressing and complex questions shaping the fintech and digital innovation ecosystem. These sessions provided novel insights for anyone building next-gen financial infrastructures, especially those operating at the intersection of compliance, decentralization, and user-first design.

A panel on the “Digital Banking Revolution”, featuring speakers from BlackRock, ATH21, MyInvestor, and Trade Republic, sparked dynamic discussion on how embedded investing, crypto integrations, and frictionless user experiences are redefining expectations in mobile finance.

In another standout, the “Digital Governance Frameworks” panel, brought together regulators, infrastructure providers, and public sector leaders, including the Balearic Government, AWS, and Meta, to explore how Europe can promote innovation while safeguarding security, sovereignty, and user rights. From AI regulation and data portability to digital identity and decentralized systems, they confirmed that regulatory maturity must evolve in parallel with technological advancement.

A shared recognition

What tied these discussions together was the shared recognition that the future of finance depends on interoperable infrastructure, not siloed systems. Whether it’s integrating stablecoins on Lightning, enabling KYC portability via decentralized identities, or using AI to power compliance, the industry is converging around a vision where user trust, regulatory alignment, and real-time access coexist by design.

For ElenPAY, these conversations reaffirmed our strategic path of building a robust payment solution supported by a secure, flexible backbone for the digital economies of tomorrow.

The future of tech looks bright

Beyond panels and workshops, the Ibiza Tech Forum 2025 reminded everyone that progress happens just as much in face-to-face conversations as it does on stage. From the Binance Exclusive Rooftop Experience to gala dinners by the marina, the atmosphere was electric, with moments of spontaneous connection, partnership-building, and genuine optimism about where our industry is heading.

It was an energizing few days full of insight, collaboration, and validation of ElenPAY’s path to bring value to companies and users worldwide. The event showcased the state of today’s technology and offered a clear horizon of where it’s evolving.

As crypto and fiat continue to converge, as regulation finds harmony with innovation, and as instant, borderless payments become the norm, ElenPAY’s technology is becoming a relevant part of the movement shaping a more inclusive, efficient, and open financial system.
